Great things I am grateful for 1/20/09
1. a NEW PRESIDENT - Barack Obama our 44th President!! WOO HOO!
2. being on the Mall for the inauguration
3. Kathryn for driving us to the MARC station
4. having a ticket for the 7:20 train as opposed to for the 6:20 train which we arrived late for
5. ALL THE AMAZING PEOPLE Leigh and I encoutered
the cop we chatted up so we could stay parked for 4 more minutes
the people on line for the MARC train
the guy who watched the door while I peed on the train
the MARC staff who kept us moving smoothly on and off the train
the DC couple in the Metro and the Jersey guys that were our good luck charms allowing us to exit at the L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station
6. the breech in the fence so we got on to the Mall - no problem!
7. the Jumbotron
8. all the folks standing around us, especially Dawn who's camera battery died - so we are sending her our pics
9. the guy at the Metro stop who sold me toe warmerd for $1 a pop
10. THE EXCITEMENT IN THE AIR
11. EVERYONE GETTING ALONG
12. STAYING WARM
13. LEIGH LEIGH LEIGH - the best person to experience this with, hugging Leigh because I was so happy I was crying
14. Kathryn for the loan of blankets, coffee cup AND for picking us up and dropping us off at the bus station

17. RIDING THE CAROUSEL - glorious. The Carousel on the Mall is one fo the best I have EVER been on, the speed is perfect and the length of the ride too!
18. meeting the couple that said that they have an agreement that every time they see a carousel they HAVE TO RIDE IT

20. MY DAD BEING OUT OF THE ICU

23. hanging out on the Capitiol right where the VIPS were, in the sunshine and eating an apple I found - it was delicious

40. Jon sharing with me how movedd he was by the Inauguration and loving him for that
41. Knowing that Jon celebrated in a way that was meaningful for him.
